Market settling to a new normal

Market settling to a new normal

Blocks PLJ 21st March 2023

Zoopla tell us that buyers are now flocking back to urban areas after the rural migration during the pandemic

They’re finding value for money in well-connected towns on the outskirts of major cities.

The West Midlands is seeing house prices rise in well-serviced areas close to Birmingham, such as in Wolverhampton (9.8%) and Worcester (8.3%).

Wychavon and Malvern Hills can be seen as outliers in this list, with strong price growth accompanied by already-high prices.

These more rural West Midlands districts gained appeal during the pandemic search for space, while proximity to main employment centres means they’re still attractive in the current movement back towards cities.

Now that the budget is over and interest rates are approaching their peak, we can at last settle into the "new normal" housing market.

Our local market has adjusted rapidly to new price levels, and both Worcester and Malvern offices are increasingly busy again.

Because we do not "overvalue" our properties, they sell well and so we would welcome more fresh properties on our books.

For a free, no obligation, valuation of your property please call Amanda Brice, Malvern Office Director on 01684 575100 or James Wilson, Worcester Office Director on 01905 26664 or use the valuation request form on our website
